OUR
FOUNDER

“Northern Virginia’s housing market has become increasingly unaffordable for the very people who sustain its communities—teachers, service workers, young professionals, and seniors—creating an urgent need for clearer pathways to affordable housing access. This is why I’ve created SuperNOVA Housing.” -

Gavin Salon, Founder

meet GAVIN

After a family friend shared a personal story of their housing journey, Gavin was inspired to launch Surpernova during his junior year in high school at the Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, Gavin is actively engaged in service, advocacy, and athletics within his community. As a varsity lacrosse player, he balances his commitment to sports with meaningful philanthropic activities.

Demonstrating leadership and initiative, he founded the DMV area chapter of Cleo (Computer Literacy Education Outreach), a nationwide nonprofit that pairs student volunteers with senior citizens to help older adults confidently navigate technology. Through this work he has helped bridge the digital divide and foster meaningful intergenerational connections. He has participated in the SCOPE Foundation, playing various sports tournaments to help raise funds for children who cannot afford to attend summer camp. He has also contributed to the Next Generation Board at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, supporting efforts to bring in young patrons and raise awareness about Holocaust history.

Gavin has a strong passion for real estate, with a particular focus on expanding access to affordable housing and supporting low-income communities. His involvement reflects a strong commitment to service, leadership, and creating lasting community impact.
